Embrace a Friend Campaign

Welcome, friend.

Having community within hardship can make disability-related struggle, more manageable. I aspire to provide support for all individuals in need. However, hardship is everywhere and developing at a rate we could never get ahead of. For this reason, we have just begun implementing ‘Embrace a Friend’ into ‘Embrace Everyday’. With permission of the individuals, we have started connecting disabled people who might be going through similar situations or are in the same state.

Why participate?

It’s helpful to have a friend that understands you. It’s helpful to have someone to talk to. For those struggling to find medical care, its helpful to know someone who has been through it, knows good physicians near you, and can be a support person through your journey with disability.

If everyone was there for someone in need, we wouldn’t have to be that someone for everyone.

You don’t have to organize groups to be a good support system for a disabled individual. And really, you don’t have to be doing anything extraordinary to be a good friend. You don’t have to be disabled to listen to someone struggling with disability. You don’t have a huge following to be a good advocate.

It’s easy to feel like our individual voices don’t matter in the grand scheme of things, but the truth is that every person has the potential to create positive change.

Embrace a Friend.
